About SIM Training Partner
Welcome, I'm Steve and this is the background to SIM Training Partner. I spent 16 years serving as a Royal Marine Commando, a role that demanded resilience, discipline, and the ability to perform under pressure. During that time, I was responsible for training and mentoring over 140 recruits, helping guide them through one of the toughest military training programmes in the world to earn their place as Royal Marines.
My approach to training has always been simple: I would never expect someone to do something that I cannot do, have not done, or would not be willing to do myself. Leading by example has always been central to how I coach and motivate others.
Outside of the military, I’ve continued to challenge myself physically, competing in multiple triathlons and completing the Glasgow to Edinburgh ultra-marathon. These experiences have reinforced my belief that with the right structure, mindset, and consistency, anyone can achieve more than they think possible.
I created this app after my wife and I had our two daughters. Like many busy parents, she wanted to get back to being fit and healthy, but life was now hectic and finding time to set aside consistently for a personal trainer wasn’t realistic. That experience made me realise how many people face the same challenge.
